March - Spring Forward & Women's History Month

March - Spring Forward & Women's History Month

For The Love Of Spring & Celebrating The Achievements Of Women

Spring is here and so is National Women's History Month! At the ELC, spring activities along with learning about the numerous contributions of women are a must.

This time of year learning springs forward as the end of the school year quickly approaches. Students celebrate the season by participating in various spring-time learning activities.

This month is also set aside to honor women’s contributions in American history. Students learn about a plethora of women who are making and have made great historical impacts in the United States.

March Flying High 2021

March 20, 2021 was the first day of spring!  We celebrated the start of this awesome season by making and flying kites.  The book of the month that highlighted this activity is The Wind Blew by Pat Hutchins. The month's activity incorporated several standards and made connections across contents:  Math, ELA, and Science.  Students learned how to build a kite using mathematical concepts, designed it by using ELA concepts, and flew their kites by learning and applying the scientific steps of the process.
